The fact that they have a higher affinity means greater potency, i.e.: at the same dose, you'll have greater psychoactivity. However, this seems to adversely affect their absorption by the body. Consequently, when you want to add more potent effects by adding carbon atoms, you also decrease the rate of metabolization. Clearly, the molecule will be stronger, but will take longer to interact with your body and may last longer.
